This past Wednesday night, while everyone was hunkered down for the big wind storm, the Lady Cruiser basketball team braved the weather to head to Lacey to go to battle with the River Ridge Hawks.
The Cruisers would take the lead on their first possession when Brooklynn Lucht took an Andrea Hutchings pass down low on the blocks and laid it up and in. After that the Cruisers never looked back as they sailed to a 44-22 victory.
Eatonville would play incredible defense all night holding the Hawks to only scoring four points in each of the first 3 quarters. The Cruisers would have 19 steals, 12 deflections, and five blocks on the night. Hailey Rath would have 6 steals and 3 blocks in the game.
River Ridge would mount a comeback in the final quarter when they would outscore the Cruisers 10-4, but the Cruiser lead was so large it didn’t matter.
On the offensive side of the ball, Rath would lead all scorers with 15 points while Kya Stewart followed with 14.
