The Washington State School Director' Association as named the Eatonville School Board a Board of Distinction for 2020.
It is one of 28 school boards that will be recognized at the WSSDA annual conference. According to a press release, in their applications, to receive the award, school directors had to explain how their actions helped their districts close opportunity gaps “in a year of shifting instructional models and daunting health and safety challenges.”
“The judges were very impressed, not only by the emphasis each of the boards placed on ensuring equity and access for their students, but also that they did so in unique ways that were tailored to their specific communities,” WSSDA Director of Leadership Development Tricia Lubach said in the press release.
