The Pierce County Council’s Oct. 13 meeting was a largely perfunctory affair lasting a little under 30 minutes that saw an ordinance and three resolutions passed.
The council passed an ordinance — Proposal No. 2020-94s – adopting amendments to Title 17A of the Pierce County Code regarding development or redevelopment activity related to stormwater drainage performed by other government agencies like school districts.
The council passed two resolutions setting dates and times for evening in-district council meetings as required by the Pierce County Charter. A District 5 council meeting is set for 5:30 p.m. Oct. 26 in the Pierce County Chambers, 930 Tacoma Ave. South, Room 1045, in Tacoma. Meetings are being held in council chambers due to restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Finally, the council passed Proposal No. R2020-101, a resolution approving the 2020 Pierce County Board of Equalization’s request to convene to act on timely filed taxpayer petitions that exceed the requirements according to the Revised Code of Washington.
