Steve Shelton was born in Fresno, CA in March 21, 1949. He had a very good childhood with a hardworking loving dad and a sweet loving mom. When he was 7 or 8 years old his dad took him and his sister out to the country and taught them how to drive while sitting on his lap. After attending Sunday School, a toy was a frequent treat. Every Friday night after cashing his check, his dad would give them a silver dollar after arriving at home. In about 1960 the family moved to Anaheim, CA for their dad’s job in construction. The Shelton’s lived right by Disneyland and often went on the weekends. Later the family moved to Huntington Beach, CA where Steve ran track for Huntington Beach HS. In 1967 the family moved to Washington state and Steve graduated from Lincoln High School. He worked for Boeing for several years and then for Cable Craft in Tacoma. He married Teri Overaa in 1973. After marriage they moved to Spanaway and then to Eatonville. They had 2 children Lee and Julie Shelton. He started Stampede Distribution with his son in 1999. Steve is survived by his wife Teri Shelton, his son Lee Shelton, his daughter Julie Shelton, and grandson Canon Impala, sister Debra Parker, nephews, and many friends. A Memorial Service will be held Aug. 7 at 11 a.m. at Fir Lane Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 924 E 176th St, Spanaway, WA, with a reception to follow.
