Vickie Lynn Jumper (Matousek) passed away on December 22nd, at home in Montana with her family, surrounded by love.
Born to Sam and Darlene Matousek (Rotter) on May 19, 1960, in Puyallup, WA. The second born of four. Vickie lived a full life, growing up in the foothills of Mount Rainier. Childhood on her grandparent’s farm consisted of family, and friends, hunting, and haying season, where everyone was welcome at the table.
Vickie graduated from Eatonville High School, class of 1979. Later completing cosmetology school, and beginning her trade, she gained clients, and lifetime friendships. In 1988, Vickie met her best friend Jim, marrying him a year later, she was welcomed into his family, gaining 2 more brothers. Vickie and Jim welcomed their first child, Cassie in 1990 and Jimmy two years later. Vickie loved being a mother and homemaker, along with being an active partner in their construction business. Following a childhood dream, Jim and Vickie moved their family to Montana in 2004, and boy, how she loved Montana! Vickie fit in perfectly becoming part of the Flathead Valley community and developing more lasting friendships!
Vickie was Jim’s favorite hunting partner, Jimmy’s biggest fan at baseball games, and loved hauling Cassie around Montana to high school rodeos. Vickie loved Mount Rainier, memories of her summit bid, the Kentucky Derby, the Oregon Ducks, and more recently, the Washington Huskies.
Following her cancer diagnosis in 2012, Vickie embraced the challenges thrown her way. She lifted others with a smile, a touch, or a joke and made it a goal to spark laughter in anyone that needed it. Her pleasure came from comforting others and she held on a little longer to make sure her husband and family would be alright without her. With God’s work finished and her soul’s work complete, she passed with grace, surrounded with love!
Vickie was greeted in heaven by her Mother, Darlene, Grandmothers, Nelly and Doris, Grandfathers, Vince and Sam, Cousin Rene, many loving friends, and dear pets, Gunner, Custer, and Bones.
