Two teams from the Eatonville Junior Cruiser Cheer organization have qualified and earned trips to The Quest Recreational Cheerleading Championships in Florida at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex March 11-12 where the teams will vie for a title against teams from coast to coast in the only end-of-season event of its kind for youth and recreational cheerleading teams.
This is an invite-only competition that is considered the Super Bowl of cheerleading.
The Junior Cruisers will have their senior and youth level teams competing in the performance recreation division.
The teams won their bids to go after competing in a competition in Portland, Oregon, where only four bids were given out, and the Cruisers took home two of those bids. This will be their first time attending this event. The winners will receive medals, a banner and rings.
The teams are coached by head coach Cecilia Estes, assistant coach Kimberly Davidson and Heather Laurent.
The senior team members are Ashley Nash, Heather Nash, Bella Duff, Kailynn Estes, Trinity Wood, Makayla Wood, Bridget Laurent, Trinity Bracken, Khloe Jacobs, Avery Painter and Madison Watts.
The youth team members are JaLynn Caldwell-Hoskins, Adele Krewson, June Owen, Chloe Krawczyk, Ellie Croppi, Kymber Young-Hamilton, Gracelynn Watts, Violet Day and Brynnley Estes.
The teams are practicing three times a week in preparation and also are fundraising all of their needed costs to go on this trip. The organization has a GoFundMe account set up to help with fundraising of all costs for the trip, https://www.gofundme.com/f/wkfhb-help-us-get-to-nationals?utm_campaign=p_lico+share-sheet&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=customer.
