The Eatonville Community Service Alliance is a citizen driven association that works to spread the word about service opportunities within the Eatonville School District boundaries.
The goal of the Eatonville Community Service Alliance is to bring the community together through service.
The first project advertised by the alliance in June was removal of invasive plant species along the Mashell River. The Nisqually Land Trust led the project. The service project took place near the old Mill Pond barn in the Town of Eatonville.
The next service opportunity is July 9 at the Mountain Community Garden, 10am-12pm.
In August the service alliance is encouraging the community to support the Eatonville Lion’s Annual Art Festival. Instead of the normal second Saturday project people can sign up on JustServe.org. to volunteer at the Art Festival the first Saturday in August. Any organizations who would like to use JustServe.org to solicit volunteers can get more information by visiting the JustServe website, www.JustServe.org.
To find service opportunities in our community simply enter your zip code and click the search button. Look for 9/11 Day of Service opportunities starting in August.
If you are interested in becoming part of the Eatonville Community Service Alliance’s core group or if there is a service project you would like to have considered by the group please contact Sara Wendell at srwendell80@gmail.com.
