Eatonville girls tennis falls to WF West

After back-to-back rainouts, the Eatonville girls tennis team finally took the court Tuesday, March 25, in a nonleague match against WF West. The Cruisers fell 5-1 in their first action in over a week.

“Yeah, it's been a tough couple of weeks with the weather,” Eatonville head coach Alex Christiansen said. “We were able to get one match in with WF West, a nonleague match.”

Megan Blake notched the Cruisers’ lone victory, earning her first singles win with a 6-4, 6-3 victory at No. 3 singles.

Singles No. 1 – Bailey Andersen lost 4-6, 6-1, 2-6

Singles No. 2 – Amelia Ferreira lost 3-6, 1-6

Singles No. 3 – Megan Blake won 6-4, 6-3

Doubles No. 1 – Alayna Meyer/Isabel Volk lost 2-6, 3-6

Doubles No. 2 – Lillian Bickford/Tia Schanbeck lost 2-6, 1-6

Doubles No. 3 – Jennavieve Smith/Kate Marsh lost 2-6, 3-6

Eatonville will look to rebound next week, starting with a match at Fife on Monday, March 31, followed by a pair of home contests against Franklin Pierce on Tuesday, April 1, and Foss on Thursday, April 3.
