April 10, 1951 to Feb. 28, 2024
Home with the Lord at last!

At the young age of 72, Melva died peacefully at home under the loving care of hospice, Dr. Gloria Lowe, and her loving husband Scott. Melva was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in early
December 2023.

Born and raised in Twin Falls, Idaho, she attended public schools before moving to Washington and graduating from Auburn High school in 1969. She then attended Beauticians School and eventually opened her own shop. Next came a job as clerk/produce manager for Gary’s Market in Seattle, joining the retail clerks union. She then took on a new job with AM/PM where she rose through the ranks to become a manager, and eventually had her own store, opening in Graham. After taking a hiatus from the formal workforce to become wife, mother, and home schooler, she became a bus driver for Eatonville School District, providing transportation for Weyerhaeuser Elementary School, retiring in 2018.

Mel, and would be husband Scott, moved to Eatonville in 1991 and bought property for their love of horses. They soon became involved as members of New Life Fellowship of Graham where she became part of Quilters for Christ, custodian, and social events coordinator. She also was involved in the AWANA and hospitality ministries. They were married there in 1997.

Kids became part of Gods plan, so they adopted 3 siblings. Lives were changed forever!

Mel’s loves were kids, horses, quilting, sewing, gardening, the beach, and shopping! Her car always found garage/yard sales! Saying her car always turned into them automatically!

Mel is survived by BF & husband of 37yrs. & 27yrs. Scott. Favorite Doberman Sophie Sue. Daughters Danielle A. McDonald (Joe) with sons Isaac & William of Hope, Ark. Daughter Ashley R. McCabe of Lakewood, WA. Son Peter M. McCabe (Bernice) with daughter Elizabeth, of Fort Drum, NY.
