Kenneth E. McVittie Sr. born in 1948, in Tacoma, Washington, passed away on July 1, 2024, in Pahrump, Nevada, at the age of 76. He was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence McVittie Sr. & Florence Virginia McVittie.
Ken is survived by his loving wife and high school sweetheart of 56 years, Nancy McVittie. He was the devoted father of Kenneth E. McVittie Jr. (Kaidrin), Tammy Carroll (Larry), and Benjamin McVittie (Jessica).
A graduate of Franklin Pierce High School, Class of 1966, in Tacoma, Washington, Ken was deeply involved in his community and cherished his time as “Worshipful Master 2009-2010” of WM. H. Upton Naval & Military Lodge #206. His commitment extended to the Scottish Rite, Shriners, and York Rite, where he found camaraderie and purpose.
Ken had a passion for golfing and camping, and he cherished moments spent with family and friends. He adored his two Shih Tzus, Smokey Ann and De Ban- dit, who brought him joy and companionship.
In addition to his wife and children, Ken has three siblings, Lawrence McVittie Jr. (preceded in death), Steve & Rita McVittie. He was a beloved grandfather to Marlana Filannino, Josiah Filannino (preceded in death), Pierre, Savanna, and Ryder McVittie, Cody & Sierra Carroll. Ken was also blessed with several great-grandchildren, including Prestyn McVittie, Braydin & Korbin Courter-McVittie, and a great-granddaughter due in December.
Ken had a wonderful sense of humor, he will be remembered fondly by all who knew him for his kindness, generosity, and un- wavering love for his family. He will be missed by all.
