Annual bonding experience returns Friday

A king and queen have been picked and the accompanying festivities and communal bonding are ready to unfold for Eatonville's annual Community Day this Friday. Starting in 1926 and every year since then, the event has symbolized community togetherness among the town's schools and general populace. The spring ritual at 12 p.m. includes the public packing Eatonville High School's gymnasium for the introduction of the Community Day royal court, dance and musical performances, and testimonials to the connections between townsfolk of all ages, schools and community groups and organizations. The king and queen this year are Katy Sawyer and Wyatt Coleman, selected in voting by fellow students at the high school. They're 89th in the long line of crownbearers who have presided over Community Day.
