The pomp and pageantry that has spanned eight decades is back. Community Day in Eatonville will be staged Friday at Eatonville High School, with a procession of festival royalty accompanied by music and dancing during the 87th annual event. Held every year since 1926, the occasion promotes community togetherness among the town's schools and general populace. Traditionally, the school's gymnasium is packed with spectators of virtually all ages to witness, among other activities, the formal coronation of the king and queen. Wearing the crown this year are Eatonville High students Ryan Moeller and Riley Jumper, who head the festival's royal court. Moeller and Jumper are making some Community Day history. Moeller and Brooks Moeller, an eighth-grader at Eatonville Middle School, are only the third siblings to be in the court in the same year. And Jumper is a third-generation queen, following Diana Malcolm (Jumper) in 1984 and Dolores Jones (Malcolm) in 1949.
