Car-pedestrian accident now fatal

A man who was struck by an automobile while he was walking across State Route 7 in Spanaway last month has died from injuries he suffered in the incident. Stuart G. Limehouse, 59, who lived in Fircrest, died Dec. 10 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma. He was injured Nov. 19. According to the State Patrol, a charge of vehicular assault against the driver in the accident could be changed by the Pierce County prosecuting attorney to vehicular homicide as a result of Limehouse's death. The accused driver is Hope Alexandria Fletcher, 20, a Graham resident. State troopers said the victim was in the crosswalk at SR-7 and 176th Street South when he was struck by a compact car driven by Fletcher. Fletcher, who troopers said didn't yield to the pedestrian, was arrested at the scene and booked into the Pierce County jail. A 2-year-old girl who was a passenger in the car was released to relatives. A jury trial for Fletcher is scheduled for Jan. 7.
