Voters have until Aug. 4, the actual election day, to cast their ballots in the primary election. Ballots can be mailed to the county elections department or deposited in official election drop boxes. The locations of the secure boxes include (in the south Pierce County area) Barney's Corner at the intersection of State Route 161 and Eatonville Cutoff Road, Graham Fire and Rescue Station 91 on 187th Street East, the South Hill and Parkland-Spanaway branches of Pierce County Library, and the Roy Y park-and-ride for Pierce Transit. On the ballot in south Pierce County are races for the county Charter Review Commissinon and Graham Fire commissioner, an emergency medical services levy for Fire District 23, and an advisory (non-binding) ballot measure that asks if voters support the county's plans to build a general services office building.
