Ten runs in the sixth inning propelled Eatonville to a 15-9 victory over Foss last Saturday in a high school baseball game. Eatonville was leading 5-3 in the non-league contest in Tacoma until breaking away in he sixth. The first eight Cruisers who batted each had a hit to produce seven runs. Then Joel Rodriguez blasted a three-run home run, capping the single-inning explosion in which Eatonville had 10 hits and sent 13 hitters to the plate. For the game, Jesse Bollen had four hits, one of them a triple, and Rodriguez, Connor Wienholz and Cole Stevens each collected three hits to pace the winners. The win improved the Cruisers' record to 2-1. In two earlier games that opened their 2014 season: " The lead changed hands six times, the last time in the sixth inning when Vashon went ahead for good and held on for 6-5 victory March 21. Both teams rapped 10 hits. Eatonville was led by Jesse Bollen, who inlcuded a home run and a triple in his three hits. Teammates Alex Brandt (two hits) and Connor Wienholz (two runs batted in) also packed a punch at the plate. " Against Steilacoom March 18 in the season-opener, the Cruisers had 10 hits GÇô two apiece by Bollen, Wyatt Coleman and Jacob McCormick GÇô in a 7-3 victory. Pitcher Kyle Pederson pitched three scoreless innings to earn the decision.
