Eatonville High School baseball coach Mike Moeller expects the Nisqually League "will be very competitiveGÇ¥ in the 2013 season. And his team is helping make it that way. In their first game back in the league Eatonville left two years ago for a short stay in the South Puget Sound League 2A, the Cruisers whipped Seattle Christian 8-2 last Friday in Kent. The Cruisers got on the scoreboard early. In the first inning, Jesse Bollen led off with a triple and scored on Jesse Mustered's single. Mustered then advanced to third base on a hit by Connor Wienholz and scored on a passed ball. The Cruisers' 2-0 lead increased in the fourth inning when Caleb Keefer reached on an error, stole second, advanced to third on a groundball out, and came in to score on a drag bunt GÇô "perfectly executed,GÇ¥ Moeller said GÇô by Kyler Hecker. Seattle Christian responded with two runs in the bottom half of the fourth to cut the Cruisers' lead to 3-2. That was still the score until the seventh inning, when the Cruisers broke the game open with a five-run burst. The scoring barrage was highlighted by singles by Mustered, Broc Tollefson and Christain Rumsey, and a two-run double by Hank Best. Hecker capped the scoring with a squeeze bunt to plate Rumsey. Moeller said Mustered and Alex Brandt pitched well for the Cruisers, earning the win and the save, respectively. Among Eatonville's oppponents this week is Chimacum, the defending Nisqually champion, today in Eatonville. The Cowboys are one of the top teams that, along with his own club, should contend for the four spots the league will have in the district playoffs, Moeller said.
