Cruisers in top five in Lacey

Eatonville's girls cross country team finished second and the boys team placed fourth in the 23-school Bill Kehoe Invitational, staged Oct. 14 at St. Martin's University in Lacey. The Cruisers' girls crossed the finish line in ninth, 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th place individually in a field of 91 runners. Emma Vuksich led the parade in a time of 20:31, followed by Emily Padgett (20:39), Faith Vuksich (20:58), Isabelle Snyder (21:00) and Tayler Cearley (21:03). The top finisher for Eatonville's boys was Ron Roberts, whose 17:07 effort was worth 11th place among 172 competitors. He was followed by teammates Zach Ames (24th at 18:14), Nickolas Schier (33rd at 18:34), Chayton Quaranto (40th at 18:59) and Carson Hutchings (50th at 19:18). Northwest Christian-Lacey hosted the meet and took the team titles in the girls and boys races.
