Hardy bike riders-ápoured through Eatonville and nearby communities Thursday during the 152-mile Ride Around Mount Rainier in One Day (RAMROD).
The annual ride begins in Enumclaw in King County and takes riders through Eatonville, Elbe and Ashford before entering Mount Rainier National Park. In the park, they face climbs of 12 miles to Inspiration Point (4,850 feet), three miles along Backbone Ridge, and nine miles over Cayuse Pass (4,694 feet).
RAMROD is the Pacific Northwest's premiere one-day, ultra-marathon cycling event, according to its organizer, Redmond Cycling Club. It draws hundreds of participants.
