Emily Oliver, one of the three candidates from the Bethel School District, was crowned as queen of the 2016 Daffodil Festival during a coronation ceremony last Sunday at Pantages Theater in Tacoma. Oliver, who attends Spanaway Lake High School, will preside over the festival's 83rd Grand Floral Parade this Saturday in Tacoma, Puyallup, Sumner and Orting. Information on parade routes and times is available at thedaffodilfestival.org. Also in the parade will be the princesses from 23 other high schools in Pierce County, including Samantha Roberts of Eatonville, Jaycee Jankins of Graham-Kapowsin and Kimberly Agfalvi of Bethel.
