District domination; on to state

Eatonville's girls and boys cross country teams are in the field for the state 1A high school meet this Saturday in Pasco. The Cruisers qualified with a championship for the girls and a runnerup finish for the boys in the district meete last Saturday in Woodland. Leading the girls were Emma Vuksich (seventh at 20:44), Emily Padgett (eighth at 20:50), Faith Vuksich (ninth at 20:51), Tayler Cearley (10th at 20:56) and Isabelle Snyder (11th at 20:59). Rounding out the district title showing were Cassy Foss (30th at 23:20) and Mia Snyder (31st at 23:26). It was the Cruisers' second title performance in as many weeks, coming on the heels of their Evergreen League victory. Eatonville's boys finished second in the district run on the efforts of Ron Roberts (fifth at 17:23), Zach Ames (eighth at 17:35) and Eli Evenson-Silva (17th at 17:56). Other finishers included Nickolas Schier (22nd at 18:24), Carson Hutchings (33rd at 18:55), Chayton Quaranto (57th at 20:23) and Brennan Hall (59th at 20:27). The state course will be on Sun Willows Golf Course.
