A Roy man died and another person was in a traffic accident Thursday on State Route 507 near Joint Base Lewis-McChord. According to the State Patrol, Alexander W. Sherrell, 26, was driving an automobile that went out of control while it was passing another vehicle near East Gate Road and struck a tree. Sherrell was ejected from the car, troopers said. A passenger, identified by troopers as a 26-year-old Puyallup man, was taken to Madigan Army Medical Center for treatment of injuries. The car driven by Sherrell was traveling at a high speed when the accident occurred, the State Patrol reported.
