Eagles and Braves keep rolling

High-scoring results kept Graham-Kapowsin and Bethel undefeated after their high school football games last Friday. G-K blanked Emerald Ridge 56-0, with Kobe Meriweather and Villami Hansen accounting for six of the Eagles' touchdowns. Bethel's Braves needed virtually every one of their points in a high-scoring duel that ended in a 47-41 victory over Puyallup. The Eagles and the Braves are 3-0 overall and give the Bethel School District a two-thirds share of the 4A South Puget Sound League's South Division lead after one week of the conference season. Curtis, the other co-leader, is G-K's opponent this Friday. Meriweather, a senior running back, and Hansen each scored three touchdowns in G-K's blowout of Emerald Ridge. Hansen, a sophomore, caught two passes for TDs and, on defense, intercepted a pass and ran it back 35 yards for another score.
