Eatonville School Board loses a member

By Pat Jenkins The Dispatch The Eatonville School Board is looking for a new member following the resignation last week of John Lambrecht. He formally resigned at a board meeting July 25, citing conflicts between his work schedule and the demands of elected office. "I am resigning only because my work schedule makes it absolutely impossible to serve in a way that honors and compliments the sacrifices made by the other members of the board. In other words, I am unable to make it to the meetings, events and workshops that (board members) jointly participate in so we can conduct the people's business,GÇ¥ Lambrecht said in a prepared statement. "Your School Board is absolutely committed to this community, and the best way this team remains successful is to be able to appropriately share the workload.GÇ¥ Lambrecht thanaked voters "for their trust in electing meGÇ¥ in 2013 in his first run for public office. He was the only candidate. A process for replacing him on the board hasn't been announced, but it likely will include a call for applicants for an appointment to serve in the vacant position until next year's election. Lambrecht works for Boeing as a business operations specialist. He also is an Army veteran who retired from the military after 22 years. Lambrecht praised the work of the school district's teachers and support staff and urged citizens to help by volunteering in schools. He said the community owes "a great debt of gratitude to those individuals of this district that personally interact with our students on a daily basis,GÇ¥ including bus drivers, teachers, and lunchroom and office personnel. "We also have to remember that we get even better outcomes when we add to that environment through volunteering our time, in addition to establishing good relationships with the district. I strongly encourage the community to engage with your schools in whatever way you can as we continue to grow into our new vision and strategy over the upcoming school years,GÇ¥ he said.
