The 23rd annual Mineral Lake fishing derby, a benefit event for the American Legion post in Mineral, will start at one minute after midnight on Apri 24 and continue until 12:30 p.m. Prizes will be awarded in various categories. Anglers in past years who've been winners or hauled in good-size fish include Tony Impala and Todd Lundquist, seen here in 2010. Tickets for this year's derby are available at Mineral Market, Headquarters Tavern, Lion's Den Campground and the American Legion Hall on Front Street. The lake fishing season opens April 23.
