Eatonville made its homecoming game a winning occasion, while Bethel absorbed a defeat in high school football action Friday, 24 hours after Graham-Kapowsin picked up another victory and moved into a virtual share of second place in its league..
Against Bow Valley, a school from Alberta in Canada, Eatonville scored 35 points in the first quarter en route to a 49-6 victory. The Cruisers (4-1) won for the fourth week in a row. They will return to Nisqually League competition next Friday when they visit Chimacum on the Olympic Peninsula.
Bethel fell to Emerald Ridge 52-35 in a South Puget Sound League 4A contest played in Puyallup. It was the Jaguars' first victory of the season. Bethel is now 1-3 in the SPSL's South division and 2-2 overall. The Braves' next opponent will be Graham-Kapowsin (3-1 in the division, 4-1 overall) in the annual battle of Bethel School District rivals.
Graham-Kapowsin blasted Rogers 38-14 Thursday. The Eagles have the same number of losses as the Curtis Vikings, who are 4-1 in the division. They trail only Federal Way, which is 5-0 and atop the South after blowing out Puyallup 63-20 Friday.
