Eatonville's Cruisers, using the efficient ground attack on offense and stout defense that has kept them undefeated all season, defeated Elma 34-13 last Friday and clinched the Evergreen League championship outright in their first year as a member of the conference. They'll take their 8-0 overall record (6-0 in the Evergreen) into the regular-season finale this Saturday in Aberdeen, where they'll face Forks. The Spartans, who are making the trip south from the north coast of the Olympic Peninsula in order halve the travel time for both schools, are 2-6 after losing last week to Aberdeen. Going into its contest at Elma, the Cruisers already assured of no worse than a tie for the Evergreen title. Ryan Franz helped make it all theirs by running for 154 yards on 21 carries and scoring three touchdowns. Eatonville gained 419 yards rushing, including 164 by George Tomal, who did his damage on nine carries. Logan Moose and Jacob McCormick were the ballcarriers for the Cruisers' other touchdowns.
