Frank Larry Gardino was born Nov. 27, 1947 in Denver, CO and passed away on Dec. 27, 2013 at the age of 66 years and 1 month. Frank was a printing press operator his whole life beginning right out of high school, while in the military, and continuing even today through their business, Graphics by Gardino. Frank was drafted into the Army and served two tours in Viet Nam and two tours in Okinawa. He met his wife, Linda, while they were both stationed at Oakland Army Base in California. After the Army he worked for numerous companies, operating presses ranging from small sheet-fed presses all the way up to three-story-high web presses with newspaper presses and labeling machines in between. He worked for Crown Zellerbach in both California and Oregon, for Titan Labels in Colorado, and for the Pierce County Herald in Washington. He began working for the state of Washington with the Department of Employment Security, promoting to the Department of Transportation, where he retired with almost 30 years of state service in 2009. He attended Tanwax Country Chapel for ten years, enjoying handing out weekly bulletins and hugs. He also enjoyed four-wheeling, driving his convertible, and most of all, his grandson Gavin. Frank is survived by his wife of 41 years, Linda, sons Louis and Earl "Duke,GÇ¥ grandson Gavin, sister Jean Dolores Wali, mother-in-law Jean Shields, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter Kristina Jean, parents Johnnie and Eralia Rose, brothers Johnnie Jr. and John Fred, and godson Thomas Wali. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 11 at 2 p.m. at the Tanawax Country Chapel in Eatonville.-á
