Robert E. "Bob' Ettlin

Passed away peacefully at age 87 on January 1, 2016. Born in Tacoma to Blasius "BobGÇ¥ and Marie Ettlin, he was proud of his Swiss heritage. Graduated valedictorian 1945 Kapowsin High School. Served in Army, attended WSU, graduated Bates as a diesel mechanic. Lived in Spanaway and Eatonville. Worked at Martinac Shipbuilding as an outside machinist, Superintendent and Project Manager for 30 years. He was a skilled craftsman who could build or repair anything. Pop loved Silver Lake, cutting firewood, duck hunting, dogs and dessert. And being a recycle engineer with Bud. Member of Tanwax Country Chapel. Survived by his wife Helen (Poorman), married 66 years. Daughters Rheta, Karen Russell, Lisa Porter (Mark). Grandsons Jeremy Russell (Saira), Robert Porter. Great-grandchildren Addie, Parker, Amelia, Sage Russell. Sisters Marlene (Paul) Scalf, Nancy (Larry) Fritz. Celebration of life memorial service on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 11:00 am, lunch reception to follow at Tanwax Country Chapel, 36417 Mountain Hwy E., Eatonville.
