Freida (Jarrells) Christian Blomberg/Aug. 27, 1930-April 23, 2016

Freida was one of 8 children born to Hazel and Millard Jarrells, of Firebrick, Kentucky. Faith was the most important aspect of her life; saved at 13, she relied on the strength of her faith to get her through all of life's trials. She married Buck Christian in 1948 and they lived in Puyallup and Ashford where they ran the Copper Creek Lodge. In 1975, the family moved to Eatonville. After 42 years of marriage, Buck died in 1990. In 1995 she married widower John Blomberg. A member of Eatonville Baptist Church, Freida is deeply loved by the church family and involved in its many programs. She has long been a mainstay of the Christian Women's Club and Stonecroft Ministries Bible Studies. Freida happily participated in the annual Eatonville Relay for Life as a 50-year breast cancer survivor. She and John served seniors at the Community Center's Senior Meal Program and gave rides to medical appointments. Work as an Eatonville School District bus driver for 14 years and the evening receptionist at the Van Eaton Clinic, made Frieda well known in the local community. Freida's love of travel found her on annual trips with backpacking "girlGÇ¥ friends to various locales including a trip to Europe. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and a sister and is survived by a sister and three brothers. Freida is survived by her husband, John, her 3 sons, their spouses, 6 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. She is also survived by John's 7 children, 17 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, which she loved and treated as her own.
