G-K breaks Bethel barrier

Graham-Kapowsin is starting to even the playing field in its inter-district high school football rivalry with Bethel.
The Eagles' 35-28 victory last Friday was their first against the Braves, who had dominated the annual showdowns between the Bethel School District mates in Graham-Kapowsin's first seven years of existence. The breakthrough win also kept G-K in a share of second place in the 4A South Puget Sound League's South division with a record of 4-1 (5-1 overall).
Federal Way leads the division at 6-0. Curtis, which has played one more league game than G-K to date, is 5-1, but the Eagles own a victory earlier this season over the University Place school.
