An axiom about football is that four quarters of effort are needed to win a game. But Graham-Kapowsin High School's team needed only one last Friday to know that its winning streak would continue. The Eagles piled up a 37-0 lead in the first quarter against Rogers, making the rest of its fifth victory in a row GÇô this time 51-20 GÇô a virtual formality. G-K, now 7-1 overall, remained in second place in the South Puget Sound League 4A's South division. But hope of repeating as the division champion ended when undefeated Emerald Ridge clinched the title with a win last Thursday over Curtis. The regular season will conclude this Friday when Graham-Kapowsin hosts cross-district rival Bethel (5-3) at Art Crate Field. The Braves have lost their last three games.
