G-K's Wright and Lugo, Bethel's Cleveland All-State

Aaron Wright and Elijah Lugo of Graham-Kapowsin and Ezra Cleveland of Bethel are members of the 2015 All-State high school football team as picked by the Associated Press. Wright was selected as a defensive back, Lugo as an offensive lineman, and Cleveland as a defensive lineman for the 4A team. All three are seniors. The state honors, which were announced last Wednesday after voting by sports writers statewide, are the latest individual kudos for the trio. The South Puget Sound League named Wright a Co-Defensive Player of the Year, Lugo a Co-Offensive Lineman of the Year, and Cleveland a Co-Defensive Lineman of the Year in the league's South Division. They also were All-SPSL choices. Wright and Lugo were standouts in Graham-Kapowsin's drive to a division regular-season title and the quarterfinals of the state tournament. Cleveland was a featured member of a Bethel team that reached the district playoffs. Lake Stevens quarterback Jacob Eason was named by the Associated Press as the state and 4A Player of the Year, as well as part of 4A All-State team. Graham-Kapowsin was well-acquainted with Eason after he threw four touchdown passes as Lake Stevens ended the Eagles' season with a 49-14 victory in the quarterfinals of the state tourney Nov. 21. The 1A All-State squad included an Evergreen League opponent of Eatonville. Hutton Napier, a senior at Montesano, was chosen as an offensive lineman.
