High school football teams are one week into their pre-season practices for the 2012 campaign that sees its first action next week.
Graham-Kapowsin, Eatonville and Bethel put on the pads last Wednesday, the official start for football under Washington Interscholastic Activities Association regulations.
Of the three local schools, Graham-Kapowsin will have the earliest season-opening game. The Eagles will travel out of state to face Post Falls, Idaho on Aug. 30. Eatonville and Bethel will face their first competition Aug. 31 GÇô the Cruisers at Orting and the Braves at Spanaway Lake.
The Braves will play their first game in Washington for the first time in three years. They opened in Texas each of the last two seasons, losing both times to Permian.
