Traffic-delaying roadwork on State Route 161 that was orginally scheduled for Friday is now planned for most of the day Saturday. A spokesman for the state Department of Transportation (DOT) said crews will be on the highway from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. from Lynch Street East to 304th Street East to install reflective, recessed pavement markers and other lane markings. Pilot cars will guide a single, alternating lane of traffic through the work zone in two-mile increments. Drivers should be prepared for delays and should drive through the construction zone with caution, the DOT spokesman said. The rescheduled work will be the "finishing touches" on a paving and chip seal project, the spokesman said.
