Our beloved Ken, age 65, passed away on March 29, 2013 in Puyallup after a long illness. Ken was born in Seattle to parents Frank and Marilyn Kildahl. Since childhood, he enjoyed the outdoors with his family. They spent many summers fishing, camping and backpacking in the Cascade Mountains. Ken graduated from Glacier High School in 1966. A year later, he and Linda were married and they moved to Santa Rosa, Calif., where Ken attended college and graduated from Sonoma State College with a degree in biology. His dream was always to return to Washington and work for the Washington Department of Game. His dream came true, and he was hired as a wildlife enforcement officer in 1971. After several years stationed in Tacoma, he transferred to Eatonville, where he remained until his retirement in 2003. Ken took great pride and care in his work and will be remembered for his dedication to the community he served and the wildlife he protected. Even in his retirement, Ken took special care to make sure the Eatonville kids' pond was stocked with trout each year for the opening day of fishing season. Ken served for several years on the Eatonville Town Council and the Pierce County Community Action Board. He was a charter member of the Nisqually Land Trust and was a past member of the Eatonville Lions Club and the Eatonville Sportsman's Club. He enjoyed traveling to Alaska, British Columbia, Oregon, California, and throughout Washington with his family. The Cle Elum/Salmon la Sac area was a special favorite. Ken is survived by his wife, Linda, of Eatonville; a sister, Karen Cyr of Burns Lake, B.C.; son Jeff and his wife Linda of Olympia; daughter Amy Sniezak and her husband Michael of Eatonville; and grandchildren Lindsay and Brenden Sniezak.
