By Pat Jenkins The Dispatch Audiences can expect the unexpected during performances this week of "Shoestring TheatreGÇ¥ at Eatonville High School. That's the word from Bethany Padgett, who's part of the cast for the production by the school's Drama Club students Nov. 13-15. Padgett, a senior who's been in every club production since her freshman year, said "ShoestringGÇ¥ is based on a "very newGÇ¥ script that has a lot of the "unexpected." The comedy is about a playhouse presenting "Cinderella" that finds itself with no money for the production after losing its budget. The results are amateurish, but funny, Padgett said, adding that she and her fellow performers are essentially "good actors playing bad actors." Her role in the 18-person cast is as Denise, a "ditzy airhead" who's the narrator for "Cinderella." Billed as suitable for families, the shows are scheduled for 7 p.m. in the school auditorium. Tickets ($7 for adults and $5 for students and seniors) may be purchased in advance at the school's main office or at the box office the night of performances. After graduating from Eatonville, Padgett plans to attend college and continue acting there and maybe in community theater, but just for fun. Her career goal, she said, is to be an elementary school teacher.
