State Rep. J.T. Wilcox, whose Second District constituency includes south Pierce County, and Rep. Joel Kretz will use social media to discuss state government issues during an online, half-hour chat with the public Feb. 2. Twitter and Facebook users can link to the conversation at https://twitter.com/hashtag/solutionswa and www.facebook/com/wahouserepublicans from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. Participants can use #solutionsWA to ask a question on Twitter or make comments on the Facebook comment thread. Questions asked on Twitter will be retweeted, so they should leave leave at least 20 characters in order to be passed along in their entirety, said Wilcox, the House Floor Leader for Republicans. He will be joined in the discussion by Rep. Joel Kretz, the Republicans' deputy leader. Online sessions give citizens another way "to connect with their legislators," Wilcox noted. Wilcox was part of two sessions last year in which a combined 29 citizens asked 25 questions.
