Changing Eatonville's municipal code to not list pit bulls, Staffordshire terriers, etc. as dangerous animals would be a giant step backwards in public safety management. Seriously, pick a safety model and this will be categorized as a latent safety defect put in place by the Town Council. Or, more importantly, check with Eatonville's insurance underwriter and the town attorney regarding the town of Eatonville's liability. In 2014, dogs have killed someone in the U.S. every 9.95 days, and pit bulls are responsible for 70 percent of 2014 attacks.-áManagement of dangerous animals should be proactive, not reactive. Go to the DogsBite.org site and do a little browsing. De-listing pit bulls as dangerous animals in Eatonville's municipal code would fly in the face of common sense legislation now enacted in towns and cities across the country.
