" The annual Memorial Day service at Bethany Lutheran Church Cemetery in Spanaway is scheduled for May 25 at 10:30 a.m. A flag and firing detail will be provided by Joint Base Lewis-McChord. Local dignitaries have been invited. The church and cemetery are located at 26418 Mountain Hwy. " Fir Lane Memorial Park will pay tribute to veterans with its 48th annual ceremony in honor of Memorial Day on May 24 at 1 p.m. Army Lt. Col. John Williams will be the guest speaker. Refreshments will be provided. Volunteers will place crosses and U.S. flags on the graves of veterans the day before. " Washington Veterans Home in Orting will host a ceremony at 2 p.m. in its chapel. Army Col. Louis Stout of Joint Base Lewis-McChord will be the guest speaker. Bethel High School's Junior ROTC will provide the color guard. A reception will follow.
