Motorcyclist hurt in hit-and-run

A Spanaway man was hospitalized after his motorcycle was struck by a hit-and-run driver June 24. According to the State Patrol, the 29-year-old motorcyclist was trying to pass an automobile on the shoulder of State Route 512 when the car moved onto the shoulder, resulting in both vehicles colliding with a guardrail. The car kept traveling westbound and left the scene. The crash occurred near Golden Givens Road. Troopers said the motorcyclist was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment of injuries.
