One injury in SR-7 crash

Traffic on State Route 7 was blocked for about three hours Tuesday by an accident that sent a motorist to the hospital. According to the State Patrol, a car driven by a 28-year-old Spanaway man went out of control and ran off the highway and struck a tree near 238th Street East. He suffered undisclosed injuries and was taken to a Tacoma hospital for treatment. A passenger wasn't injured, troopers said. In the accident's aftermath, the highway was blocked slightly over three hours for an investigation, medical attention and the removal of the car.
