Graham-Kapowsin opened its defense of the 4A South Puget Sound League South Division title by tipping Curtis 27-21 in overtime last Friday. Brandon Beckcer ran a yard for the winning touchdown. Before that, the Eagles forced an overtime with Micah Smith's touchdown run with less than three minutes remaining in regulation. That tied the score at 21-21. Next up for G-K is Emerald Ridge, which won its SPSL opener 35-28 last week against Puyallup. The Jaguars are 1-1 overall, having lost to Olympia in week one. G-K humbled ER 56-0 last year.
