Prep football: G-K, Bethel 3-0; Cruisers go for three straight

Scouting report: It's showdown time in University Place between two of the three unbeaten members of the South Puget Sound League's 4A South Division. Both convincingly won their league openers last Friday. Graham-Kapowsin, avenging its only SPSL setback of 2014, blew out Emerald Ridge 56-0, and Curtis throttled Spanaway Lake 50-6. G-K's defense is allowing opponents an average of seven points per game, while Curtis is scoring an average of 42 per outing. Kobe Meriweather and Villami Hansen each scored three touchdowns for the Eagles against ER.
Hoquiam (3-0) at Eatonville (2-1), Sept. 25, 7 p.m.
Scouting report: The Cruisers, who began their defense of the Evergreen League 1A title by beating Aberdeen 43-20 last Friday, will try to stretch their winning streak this year to three games. Hoquiam topped previously unbeaten Tenino 20-13 last week. New inductees into Eatonville's Athletic Hall of Fame will be honored at halftime. Against Aberdeen, the Cruisers' Tucker Poll caught four passes for three touchdowns and 117 yards, Justin Brandt scored twice on pass plays, and quarterback Jacob McCormick completed 18 of 25 passes for 286 yards.
Rogers (1-2) at Bethel (3-0), Sept. 25, 7 p.m.
Scouting report: Bethel is one of three undefeated teams in the South Puget Sound League 4A South Division after outdueling Puyallup 47-41 in a conference opener last week. Rogers is coming off a 56-7 non-league humbling at the hands of Camas.
