State-bound runners second in district

Eatonville High School's girls cross country team, fresh from a runnerup finish in the district meet, will take aim at the 1A state championships this Saturday in Pasco. The Cruisers, led by the top-five finishes of Isabelle Snyder and Emma Vuksich, placed second in the District 4 race Oct. 31 in Woodland. Snyder was third in 20 minutes 42 seconds. Vuksich followed in fifth place in 21:06. Also placing for the Cruisers were Emily Padgett (14th at 22:07), Faith Vuksich (19th at 22:55), and McKenna Donaldson-Anderson (21st at 23:07). All will run in the state meet, which will be held at Willows Golf Course. La Center captured the district team title. Also competing in Pasco will be Ron Roberts, Eatonville's lone qualifier for the boys' competition. Roberts finished seventh in the District 4 meet with a clocking of 17:37. The top 15 individual finishers earned state trips.
