Eatonville High School track and field coaches voiced satisfaction with their teams' seventh-place finish in the boys' competition and 16th-place on the girls' side in the 35-team Tacoma Invitational last Saturday. The Cruisers "competed wellGÇ¥ in the meet staged at Lincoln High School's Lincoln Bowl, said coach George Fairhart. Top performances by Eatonville included Lucas Hatton finishing second in the shot put with a throw of 51 feet 2 inches and third in the discus at 142 feet. Teammate Justin Kaelin finished fourth in both of those events with efforts of 48-4 and 141-6, respectively. Zach Fairhart finished third in the javelin at 150-5, Logan Moose was fourth in the high jump at 5-8, and Joe Evans finished eighth in the long jump at 18-11. Among Eatonvlle's girls, top-eight finishers included Emma Vuksich (sixth in the freshman/sophore 1,600 at 5:53.94), Daisey Newman (second in the javelin with a throw of 101-7 and fifth in the shot put at 33-10), and Rhoda Boetcher, who set a new school record in the 3,200 at 12:06.
