Walking to beat cancer

This year's Relay for Life in Eatonville raised about $42,000 for the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer. The top three teams in fund-raising were Super Moms and Dads at $7,740, Team Flamingo Red Hatters at $5,891, and Team Arrow at $4,165. Participants walked or jogged laps around the football field at Eatonville High School July 12-13. The teams (with their captains' names in parentheses) included All Night for the Fight (Jessica Davis), Bark for Life (Cierra Richards), Bloc Out Cancer (Rhonda Kirkes), Eatonville Relay For Life 5K (Aili Wikander), Fit Kids (Debbie Heishman), Rebels With a Cause (Tami Crisman), Isabelle's Angels (Erik Snyder), Jewels of MBS (Carol Bennett), Jivin' for the Cure (Sapphire Guenther and TraciAnn Godwin), Living Word Assembly of God (Ruth Bernt), MultiCare and The Health Nuts, (Kendra Neigel), Ohop Grange (Jewell Nelson), Racing 4 a Cure (Rylie Rahier), Super Moms and Dads (Tina Schmidt), Sweatin' for Survival (Stacy May), Team Arrow (Steve Putney), Team Flamingo Red Hatters (Iris Blackett), Team Gypsy Wagon (Christine Blackett), Team Inspirations (Pam Curtis), Team One Big Happy Family (Tracey Norton), Team Simpson (Rae Simpson), The Avengers (Wendi Taylor), The Rockin Entourage (Chase Charaba), Wild for a Cure (Kiersti Nation) and Graham Fitness Warriors (Sandra Rolfe).
