State Rep. J.T. Wilcox is off to a good start in his bid for re-election. Wilcox, a Republican seeking his third two-year term as one of the legislators for the Second District, collected about 70 percent of the votes in the primary election that ended Tuesday. Advancing with him to the general election in November will be Steven Nielson, a Libertarian who finished second in voting that ended Tuesday. In a countywide race for Pierce County District Court judge, Jeanette Lineberry appears to have made it through the primary. She received 37 percent of the votes, about seven percentage points better than Karl Williams and Sandra Allen, who were in a virtual dead-heat to decide the second candidate for the general election.
