Your clutter helps Lions help others

Eatonville Lions would like to encourage everyone starting spring cleaning to think about recycling those old eye glasses that you have tucked away into a drawer.-áThe Lions also recycle hearing aids and cell phones.-áThere is a handy donation box in front of Kirk's Pharmacy, or you can take them in to the pharmacy. Donation boxes are also located in the Methodist Church basement, Country Mouse quilt shop, and the Eatonville Community Center.-á The LERC recycling center is located near Lacey and is run by volunteer Lions. In the past 10 years, they processed more than 1.5 million pairs of glasses and distributed nearly 170,000 pairs to missions in developing countries.-áBoth reading glasses and prescriptions of all kinds are needed. If they are broken or not reusable for vision, they are recycled to help pay operating expenses of the LERC operations. In a report from Avondale about a recent trip to Mexico that included an ophthalmologist and ER nurse-áas well as 17 others, they reportedly found 80 to 250 people waiting when they opened each of the fove mornings. Remember that you can clean out clutter and help someone else.
