Family Agency among MultiCare grant recipients

Eatonville Family Agency is among the non-profit community organizations that are sharing a combined $500,000 in newly awarded grants from MultiCare Health System.
MultiCare awarded grants to 58 organizations based on their support of the growth and development of projects that have a significant impact and improve communities, MultiCare officials said.
Eatonville Family Agency serves the south Pierce County area with a food bank, a clothing bank, programs for seniors, and other social services.
“MultiCare has a long tradition of partnering with the community and this is part of that important work,” said Bill Robertson, president of MultiCare.
Robertson said the health system's mission of encouraging health-oriented partnerships "inspires us to form connections that help improve the quality of life for our communities.”
The new grant awards, which were announced last week, represent the third round of non-profit organizations to receive funding from MultiCare’s Community Partnership Fund.
The fund, which was established in 2015, focuses on building partnerships that contribute to the health and vitality of communities through efforts involving health improvement, economic well-being, education and the arts.
"There are many determinants of health beyond access to healthcare, and we are committed to collaborating with organizations that also are focused on improving the quality of life for all of our neighbors,” Robertson said.
Community organizations in Pierce, King and Kitsap counties – the regions served by MultiCare Health System – can apply for single-year grants. The applications are reviewed by MultiCare officials and community leaders.
MultiCare's network of hospitals, medical clinics and other health services include clinics in Eatonville, South Hill, Frederickson and Spanaway.
