Eatonville falls to Port Angeles in 2A districts

A second-quarter scoring drought started Eatonville on the way to a 44-37 loss Thursday to Port Angeles in the 2A West Central District girls high school basketball playoffs.

The Cruisers now will try to work their way through the consolation bracket to earn a trip to the regional tournament. The road will begin at Wilson High in Tacoma on Feb. 15, when Eatonville faces either Olympic or Franklin Pierce. The season will end for the losing team, while the winner will need to win one more game to advance to the regionals.

Eatonville scored only two points in the second quarter against Port Angeles, resulting in an 18-15 halftime deficit. PA built its lead to 35-23 in the third period, leaving the Cruisers with too much ground to make up.
